Project Request

In the summer of 2021 my CIO came to me with a vision of a new website that focused on Ascent’s capabilities in technology. He requested that the site push the boundaries of our brand and bring the site’s image beyond our competitor’s level.

Competitive Analysis

I developed a competitor analysis of the website of our competitors and compiled the results for a presentation to the board by our CIO. I then used the results to create a roadmap for my team to begin designing the new site.

Initial Design Process

I challenged my team of UX and UI designers to design a mock-up for a new corporate website. The team worked on different options for design directions and I held team co-design workshops to formulate a polished prototype to present to leadership.

Project Management

Once the project was approved I was tasked with hiring an external development team to work with my designers to develop the site. I interviewed multiple website development agencies and choose the best agency to work on our project. I then worked with my team and the agency on timelines, sprint planning, stakeholder reviews, QA, and billing to create a live site ready for publication.

Going live – A brand Reimagined

Before the site was scheduled to go live, Marketing and leadership decided to update Ascent’s brand to match the design of the site. Marketing began to work with my team to develop a new brand logo, messaging, and artwork to align with the vision that my team initially designed. This lead to a coordinated launch of the new brand with the website going live.
